Marc Altshuller is CEO of Varicent. Under Marc’s watch, Varicent has also acquired and integrated Symon.AI, an augmented intelligence solution for data ingestion, data preparation, advanced analytics, data science and machine learning focused on business users.
Marc was the founder of Varicent in 2004, leading Varicent to become Canada’s fastest-growing company in 2010 and the 2010 Deloitte Fast 500 fastest growing software company in North America. Varicent was then acquired by IBM in 2012, where following the acquisition, Marc was promoted 5 times over the next 6 years, ultimately holding the role of General Manager of IBM’s approximately $1 billion Business Analytics Division. During this time, Marc brought Cognos back to growth, oversaw IBM's largest organic digital offering, Watson Analytics, and was on IBM’s Growth and Transformation Team comprised of the top 300 Executives at IBM.
Most recently before rejoining Varicent, Marc served as Executive in Residence at Information Venture Partners, a Toronto/NY based Fintech fund. He then partnered with Great Hill Partners and Spectrum Equity to buy back Varicent from IBM on December 31, 2019.
Recognized for his entrepreneurship and support in the technology industry, Marc was featured on Hardbacon, a financial technology company, Top 36 Angel Investors in Canada list in 2021.
Danita Belcher is an accomplished global sales leader with over 20 years of experience in enterprise software and cloud services. She has a proven track record of building high-performing teams and driving strategic revenue growth for leading cloud-based technology companies.
As Varicent’s Chief Revenue Officer, Danita oversees all revenue-generating operations, including sales strategy, business development, and revenue optimization. She is focused on aligning people, processes, and data to deliver measurable results and enable customers to achieve their goals.
Prior to joining Varicent, Danita successfully led cross-functional sales organizations at enterprise SaaS companies, RingCentral and Nuance Communications—where she excelled in scaling global revenue channels, managing alliances, and delivering innovative customer engagement solutions.
Danita is widely recognized for her ability to empower teams, capitalize on market opportunities, and implement transformative go-to-market strategies that drive growth and performance across industries.
Neil Whitney is Chief Product & Innovation Officer at Varicent. A founding member of the original Varicent leadership team, Neil has over two decades of executive experience leading high-growth teams across product, design, engineering, services, sales, marketing and operations, from startups through global enterprise.
In his current role, Neil oversees and sets the vision for Varicent’s product, design, engineering and professional services, ensuring that Varicent’s platform and delivery continuously evolve and meet the needs of the world’s most sophisticated and high growth organizations.
Neil brings a deep background in enterprise software, with a focus on delivering lasting impact through innovation. Prior to Varicent, Neil led Product, Delivery and Operations at Ada, launching intelligence and integration capabilities that accelerated growth and profitability by unlocking millions in new AI revenue while maturing delivery and customer experience. During his time at IBM, Neil drove product vision and design for IBM’s Business Analytics division and IBM’s Digital Platform, launching new digital offerings and bringing legacy brands back to growth while improving customer journeys, experience and satisfaction. Whether guiding small agile squads or large global teams, Neil delivers enterprise-grade platforms which enable growth and empower users.
Neil is passionate about delivering transformative experiences which drive customer value. His leadership continues to shape Varicent’s mission of helping organizations drive sustainable, data-driven growth.
Karoline Chan is Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Varicent. As CHRO, Karoline is responsible for all aspects of our human resources strategy, including talent management, employee communications, leadership development, compensation and benefits. She works closely with our leaders to ensure we continue to build a culture that attracts, retains and develops the best team.
Prior to joining Varicent, Karoline was Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Global Payments Inc. There, she was responsible for HR for the company’s Canadian division, HR for the global Technology business, and overall Talent Management, HR Employee Communication, and Change Management. In her leadership role at Global Payments, she built global HR strategy and led organizational transformations.
Prior to Global Payments, Karoline led Human Resources with BMO and Fidelity Investments.
Robert Levine is the Chief Financial Officer of Varicent. Robert provides overall financial and legal leadership and is responsible globally for finance and accounting, legal, corporate development, compliance, and financial planning and analysis. Mr. Levine has more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership, private equity and investment banking roles in the enterprise software, telecom, internet infrastructure and media industries. Robert is a key partner to the leadership team in achieving success by growing the business both organically and through acquisitions and delivering long term sustainable financial results.
Most recently, Robert was the CFO of Sigma Systems where he had financial, strategic, legal, compliance and operational responsibilities that extended across the globe, including the successful sale to Hansen Technologies in 2019. Prior to Sigma, Robert was the CFO of CentriLogic, a global provider of managed hosting, cloud computing, and advanced IT outsourcing solutions.
Robert also worked at BMO Capital Markets where he was a leading advisor to communications and internet infrastructure companies on strategic financial, M&A and capital raising transactions. Additionally, he spent more than four years in BMO’s U.S. M&A group based in Chicago, and prior to that was part of BMO’s private equity investing team. Robert started his career with Deutsche Bank in Toronto. He holds an HBA and MBA from Western Ivey School of Business and has a strong track record in driving and delivering on results.
Callan Young is a proven B2B SaaS executive with a track record of scaling organizations and building revenue engines in VC, private equity, and public company environments.
As Chief Marketing Officer at Varicent, Callan leads the company’s global marketing organization with a focus on accelerating marketing efforts, driving revenue growth, strengthening brand presence, and delivering value to our customers.
Prior to Varicent, Callan most recently was Chief Marketing and Growth Officer at ON24, and Chief Marketing Officer at Experity. She also serves as a Senior Operating Advisor at Warburg Pincus, leading marketing and go-to-market best practices across their portfolio companies.
Callan has built high performing teams while delivering strong return on investment. Her experience gives her a well-rounded perspective on go-to-market strategies.
Jason Loh is the Chief Growth Officer at Varicent. With a continuous commitment to innovation and pushing what’s next, Jason leads the overall growth strategy and vision for Varicent, including commercial optimization, strategic partnerships, and go-to-market investments. In collaboration across Varicent’s sales, marketing, customer success, operations and product teams, he plays an integral role in developing new revenue streams, expanding market opportunities, and driving profitable growth by servicing the unique needs of our customers.
Jason is a seasoned SaaS professional with over 25 years of experience launching new solutions, delivering hyper-growth, and leading commercial teams. Previously, he served as Varicent’s Chief Product Officer, guiding our overall product strategy and roadmap investments. Prior to Varicent, Jason was Global Head of Sales and Marketing Solutions at Anaplan, where he spearheaded the commercial strategy for its sales and marketing solutions. Jason also played a key role in the growth of other notable companies including Oracle, Conga, and SAP. He earned a degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California.
Jason is a champion of helping revenue leaders drive resilient growth through alignment of what-if analysis, behavioral economics, and data science. With a proven track record of leadership and innovation, Jason is instrumental in helping evolve our business to meet the challenges of the industry’s most complex revenue teams.
Matt is Varicent’s Chief Technical Officer and a founding member of the original Varicent leadership team. As CTO, Matt works to enhance software capabilities, develop, and launch new product services, and utilize his vast industry knowledge to extend Varicent’s product offerings and market leadership.
Matt has led development teams from inception through acquisition and specializes in the development of new products. During his time at IBM, Matt extended Varicent’s industry leading performance through the Premium Performance add-on and creating Varicent’s next generation cloud product on IBM Cloud. By applying his deep knowledge of data science to specific industry use cases, Matt led the creation of new products in Business Analytics, Industry Solutions and Watson Financial Services. This includes the Symon.AI technology, acquired by Varicent.
Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.
Nicoal Berryman is the Executive Vice President of Customer Success at Varicent, where she leads the company’s global Customer Success organization with a focus on driving customer value, retention, and revenue growth.
Since joining Varicent, Nicoal has played a key role in building a scalable customer success program designed to deepen customer relationships and unlock expansion opportunities. She engages with executive stakeholders, helping teams align more closely to customer business outcomes. Nicoal has also introduced a stronger focus on ROI-driven decision-making and is helping evolve Varicent’s services strategy to ensure customers realize measurable impact from their investments.
Nicoal brings extensive experience building and leading Customer Success organizations at both high-growth startups and global enterprises. She previously served as National Director of Customer Success for Microsoft, where she led teams focused on helping organizations maximize value from their technology investments while strengthening long-term customer partnerships. She is known for bringing showmanship to her work, believing the best customer experiences are as engaging as they are effective.
A proven delivery executive in the enterprise software business, Chris held global leadership roles with enterprise software organizations such as The Baan Company, Workbrain Inc., Infor, Varicent and IBM. Before Varicent, Chris held senior leadership positions with Infor/Workbrain Inc., which included running Workbrain’s Workforce Management (Managed Services) Group.
As an initial member of the original Varicent Global Services Management team, Chris supported delivery excellence, standardization and key market growth. At IBM, Chris held worldwide responsibility for the Watson Financial Services ICM division, overseeing significant world-wide expansion in over 20 countries.
Chris holds an Honors degree from Lakehead University, and subsequent Business Diplomas focusing on International Business. He’s an avid sports fan, husband and father of 3.
