World's Largest Mobile Transaction Network Chooses Varicent for SPM Efficiency and Enhanced Automation

November 17, 2011 (Toronto, ON) – Varicent Software Incorporated, a pioneer and global leader in incentive compensation management and sales performance management (SPM) solutions, announced today that it has been selected by mBlox, the world’s largest mobile transaction network providing messaging, commerce and marketing services to power mobile business across the globe, to implement incentive-based commission plans.

A big driver for mBlox was the importance of offering greater visibility to the sales team with round-the-clock web-based access to pipeline and performance.  The sales team had developed a sense of skepticism about payouts and rebuilding trust was essential.  The legacy manual system used to calculate sales commissions was very time consuming and error prone, and mBlox sought a solution that would improve sales operations efficiency by automating their very complex spreadsheets and formulae.  Integration with Salesforce.com was also a top priority, and Varicent SPM delivered on all fronts.

“Our legacy process involving manual data feeds and spreadsheets extended the commission payment cycle and resulted in frequent errors,” said Steven Love, Chief Financial Officer of mBlox.   “Further we did not have the flexibility to change our incentive compensation plans mid-year, but now with Varicent, we have significant flexibility which allows us to forecast and to model our data strategically.”

Varicent SPM was chosen because:

  • The ETL process provides the flexibility needed at mBlox.
  • The solution facilitated ease of ownership by business users.
  • The solution can be easily administered with minimal IT involvement.
  • Administrators can tailor step-by-step process lists to their current environment and their most pressing needs to greatly improve efficiency.
  • Varicent’s service commitment was unparalleled and inspired confidence that mBlox’s complex environment would be more than adequately supported.

"We are very pleased to be working with mBlox, a company so robustly positioned in the mobile value chain,” said Mike Meisenheimer, Director of Industry Solutions, Varicent. "Especially considering the company’s expertise in mobile billing and mobile message delivery, we are proud that mBlox has chosen Varicent for their sales performance management needs.  We look forward to working with their team going forward.”
