Varicent E-mail Policy
VARICENT SOFTWARE INCORPORATED EMAIL PRIVACY POLICY
The Varicent Web site permits users to access information about Varicent and its products. In providing this access, Varicent recognizes the principles of privacy of Personal Information.
Information Gathered Through the Varicent Web Site:
There are three ways in which information can be gathered when using the Varicent Web site: 1. When you visit the Varicent Web site, the company’s Web server identifies the IP address of the user’s computer and resolves it into a domain name. 2. By using programming scripts, the company collects information about the type of browser, operating system and system configuration that is used. 3. In order to obtain access to portions of the Web site (to download free marketing materials, to request a demo, etc.) Varicent may ask the user to complete a registration form that identifies personal information about the user or solicits user comments. This form provides users with the ability to optionally receive future emails of any sort from Varicent. If the user opts to receive email communications from Varicent, then Varicent may send information pertaining to Varicent products and/or services. These email notices provide opt-out opportunities allowing this service to be cancelled at any time.
Varicent refers to all information gathered through the Web site as "Personal Information".
Use of Personal Information
In addition to the information that Varicent collects directly, Varicent also monitors and tracks usage of the Web site, viewing and traffic patterns, supporters' behavior, and other similar information. Information is compiled into a statistical aggregate. The aggregate information is used for internal business and administrative purposes such as improvements to the company Web site, product and service offerings, and company operations.
Varicent does not sell or share Personal Information to other companies.
Does Varicent Software use Cookies and Tracking Technologies?
Varicent sometimes collects non-identifiable information from visits to the Web site ("cookies") to help provide better customer service. Visitor activity is monitored on the Web site in ways that keeps the information non-identifiable. The company may use cookies or clickstream data to analyze trends and statistics and to help provide better customer service.
Correction and Deletion of Personal Information
Information provided the user may be reviewed and changed at any time by clicking on the "update your profile" link, or a similar link found at the bottom of emails sent via Varicent’s system. Users can also contact amiller@varicent.com to change Personal Information.
By contacting amiller@varicent.com, the user can:
- Find out the details of any Personal Information held
- Correct or update that Personal Information
- Request the deletion of that Personal Information
