CAREERS - Business Consultant

As a Business Consultant you will work closely with our clients to identify, design and implement Sales Performance Management (SPM) solutions to meet the clients’ business and technical needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation and configuration of software applications in accordance with the clients’ specifications
  • Assist with building relational databases, and writing and testing calculations
  • Extract, transform and load data into both relational databases
  • Verify data loaded into relational databases
  • Build and test templates and reports
  • Document and communicate project status regularly to the Project Management team
  • Coordinate and communicate with the customer’s project manager and project resources
  • Provide expertise to assist in the planning and execution of proposals and statements of work
  • Assist the customer in making decisions to properly and creatively utilize features to meet the customer’s needs
  • Present solutions that are consistent with the architecture and the design of Varicent’s application
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn new application functionality – strive to be a Product expert

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree or recognized technical diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline

Experience:

  • Prior experience in building relational databases
  • Demonstrated ability to write basic programming code to facilitate calculations & reporting and to create complex formulas, macros and sophisticated formatting in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong business communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting concepts
  • Proven knowledge of and hands on experience with:
    • SQL Server
    • Data Warehousing
    • Microsoft Analysis Services (MSAS/SSAS)
    • Extract, Transform & Load (ETL)
    • Data Transformation Services (DTS)
    • Business Intelligence (BI)
  • Practical hands-on experience with the following languages and front end technologies:
    • SQL
    • Excel
    • XML
    • HTML
    • Applix TM1
    • Reporting Services
    • VBA/VBScript /Javascript

Travel Requirements:

This position requires the successful candidate to travel approximately 75% of the year, on a weekly basis, typically Monday through Thursday.  Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and passport and must be legally eligible to work and travel, without restrictions, through-out North America.
