Business Consultant
We are currently recruiting for a Business Consultant to join our dynamic team. As a Business Consultant, you will work closely with our clients to identify, design and implement Sales Performance Management (SPM) solutions to meet the clients’ business and technical needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation and configuration of the Varicent SPM software application in accordance with the clients’ specifications
- Assist with the implementation of Compensation Plans, Quota Plans and Territory Management logic within a complete software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Discover appropriate business requirements and design a scalable, flexible and maintainable solution using best in class techniques
- Enable both Customers and Partners throughout the implementation lifecycle
- Extract, transform and load data
- Work with our customers to facilitate and compile test scripts, test cases and overall testing plans
- Document and communicate project status regularly to the Project Management team
- Coordinate and communicate with the customer’s project manager and project resources
- Provide expertise to assist in the planning and execution of proposals, proof of concepts and statements of work
- Assist the customer in making decisions to properly and creatively utilize features to meet the customer’s needs
- Present solutions that are consistent with the architecture and the design of Varicent’s SPM solutions
- Demonstrate the ability to learn new application functionality – strive to be a Product expert
Requirements
Education:
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree or recognized technical diploma in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
Experience:
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a consultant role for Enterprise Software projects (configuration/implementation/integration).
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in implementing Sales Performance Management solutions.
- Expertise with full end to end SDLCs which includes gathering technical and business requirements, and leading design and testing sessions with external clients.
- Expertise with configuring applications, executing technical implementations, and technical analysis.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Waterfall methodology.
- Experience in building relational databases
- Demonstrated ability to write basic logical queries to facilitate calculations & reporting and to create complex formulas in Microsoft Excel
- Strong business communication skills (verbal and written)
- Solid understanding of financial reporting concepts
- Strong understanding of relational databases
- Excellent understanding and hands-on experience with SQL and Excel
Travel Requirements:
80% travel in North America (some international engagements)
Additional skills:
Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with the following languages and front end technologies:
- JavaScript

Implementation Specialist
We are currently looking for an Implementation Specialist who is passionate, talented and likes a technical challenge. Varicent Business Edition is a specific product offering focused on the Small and Medium Business (SMB) Market for Incentive Compensation Management. The service delivery model takes a Rapid and iterative approach to quickly enable our customers to leverage the robust feature set of Varicent SPM.
The Implementation Specialist will have 2 primary objectives:
- Requirements Gathering and Model Configuration for Varicent implementations for our mid-market clients using our Varicent Rapid Deployment Methodology
- Work with our Mid-Market Solutions Center, PMO and Product management to continually revise and enhance our Rapid Deployment Methodology tools, templates, processes and pre-builts
Our Varicent Rapid Deployment Methodology will differ from our Enterprise Delivery method known as Varicent Perform! Methodology. The objective of this new methodology is to reduce effort and duration for Varicent implementations. Through the enforcement of a limited scope and the use of pre-defined templates, process and pre-builts, we will deliver a Varicent end product that meets the client’s core requirements in a 4 – 9 week timeframe.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring the success of Varicent led implementations of Varicent Business Edition
- Work collaboratively with the Project Lead/Manager. All Implementation Managers are player coaches in that they manage the project but are also doing part of the work with the Implementation Specialists.
- Continual improvement of the Rapid Deployment Methodology by leveraging and enhancing the processes, tools, templates and pre-builts
Requirements:
Experience:
- Cultivate and maintains relationships collaboratively with internal departments (i.e. R&D, Customer Support, Training, etc.) and external clients to properly leverage resources to address customer needs
- Confidence to guide clients on best solutions that are consistent with both the client’s and our organizational objectives
- A history of adapting methodology and improving on product and practices based on previous experiences.
- A willingness and the patience to learn from and/or mentor other internal and external resources on the technical and functional aspects of Varicent
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment; ability to work independently to drive account objectives
- An entrepreneurial, self-starting personality able to take initiative and drive project to completion, delighting clients with high-quality deliverables

Project Manager
We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Project Manager, you will work closely with our clients to identify, design and implement Sales Performance Management (SPM) solutions to meet the clients’ business and technical needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and management of project resources including Varicent, client and partner resources
- Acts as the front-line contact with client representatives on all project-related issues
- Builds and maintains external customer relationships with the customer's management and project teams
- Manages the overall software implementation lifecycle of a project ensuring compliance with existing and future implementation standards
- Prepares project scope and develops project plans, defines resource loading, skill requirements, milestones, and metrics per Varicent’s standard methods and practices
- Become a product expert, able to implement the Varicent Solution with the larger project team
- Monitors and documents project status; anticipates problems and resolves them or escalates them to appropriate level of management for resolution
- Assists with managing the project budget including managing of forecasts against actuals, travel and expenses and collection of receivables
- Provides direction for deployment and change management activities
- Responsible for preparing and submitting monthly project billing report for finance

Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Project Management leadership roles for Enterprise Software projects (deployment/installation/implementation/integration)
- Minimum 6 years of experience with Waterfall methodology
- Minimum 6 years of experience with MS Project
- Excellent project planning, budgeting, resources (internal and external), and client management skills
- Expertise with full software development lifecycle (SDLC) which includes gathering technical and business requirements, and leading design sessions with external clients
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word)
- Effective time management, documentation and organizational skills
- Expertise with facilitating and presenting change control processes for external clients
- Excellent comprehension of databases, web applications and networking environments
- Proven knowledge of and/or hands on experience with relational Databases
- Practical hands-on experience with the following languages and technologies:
- SQL
- SQL Server
- Oracle
- JavaScript
- J2EE
- .NET
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or in other technical field
Travel Requirements

Requirements:
- under graduate degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Minimum 8 years project related experience with exposure to all phases of software development including: Analysis and Design, Implementation, Testing and Deployment specific to Incentive Compensation or Sales Performance Management solutions
- Experience implementing and integrating with anyone or more of the following: PeopleSoft, SAP, Baan, and Oracle.
- Preferred technical certification (RDBMs certification – Oracle, SQLServer, etc.).
- Preferred Microsoft certification NT/other.
- Required technical skills; working knowledge of Unix and Varicent’s supported database platforms ( Oracle, DB2, SQLServer)
- Tools: SQL, Microsoft Project; OS and environments: Windows (2000, 98, 95, NT…), Unix, MS-Dos., Web servers (tuxedo, iis, apache).
- Languages: JAVA, JavaScript, SQL, PL/SQL, XML
- Degree/diploma in Computer Science and/or related field.
- Experience architecting technical enterprise solutions.
- Understands Data Modeling concepts, methodologies and processes
- Skilled in analyzing and documenting business requirements and corresponding solution specifications.
- Able to work with minimal direction.
- Understanding of, and experience with, application architecture (client/server, web, database).
- Experience writing database queries in SQL.
- Experience with database development of stored procedures, triggers, and view functions.
