Job Description:

Varicent Education Services provides comprehensive instructional programs to ensure our customers, partners and employees achieve the highest level of success.

The Curriculum Developer plays a key role in helping our customers build product knowledge, increase user adoption and promote best practices through the development of high quality training around the Varicent product lines.

Ideal Candidates are passionate curriculum developers skilled in the design and development of instructor-led course materials.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain expertise in all Varicent products for the purpose of designing and developing courses used to enable clients, partners, and internal employees on Varicent products
• Work with Professional Services consultants to develop training plans for customer implementation projects
• Review and test curriculum offerings; contribute to new subject ideas
• Incorporate best practices and techniques from a training and learning standpoint
• Engage in special projects to support Education Services business processes and tools
• Design new courses using well-known instructional design techniques
• Stay on top of new product rollouts to ensure ongoing knowledge of the latest features (typically while they are in a pre-release and largely undocumented state)
• Interact heavily with the product management/development teams to clarify the usage and intent of new features
• Help gather and document the best practices for implementing Varicent products
• Review early drafts of the software documentation and provide feedback
• Write draft course descriptions for new courses (which serve as high level design documents)
• Write formal detailed courseware design documents
• Develop all elements of the course materials (manuals & lab files)
• Teach beta, train-the-trainer, deliveries of new courses and gather feedback to improve the delivered product
• Incorporate feedback from multiple sources into new and existing courses (respond to bug and enhancement requests filed against courses)
• Review courseware proofs (prior to publication)
• Write and review certification exam questions

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience in curriculum development using Adobe FrameMaker, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,  Adobe Connect, Adobe Captivate, or equivalent applications
• Excellent written and verbal English skills for the purpose of student guide development, curriculum review, and communication
• Experience with developing and maintaining curriculum, learning objectives, student guides, training aids, and hands-on exercises
• SQL experience an asset
• Commitment to information accuracy and precision
• Ability to prioritize and accomplish a diverse set of responsibilities
• Ability to effectively organize time and meet aggressive timelines
• An aptitude for mastering new software applications

Additional skills:

• An understanding of common industry standards as related to Sales Performance Management with an understanding of standard business practices as related to Incentive Compensation Management, Territory Management, Quota Planning, and Sales Performance Analytics

Technical Skill Requirements:

Position Overview
